Filling Station hosts The Powerhouse
Revival
Originally
from Bozeman, Dylan-Thomas Vance, who now calls Portland, Ore., home,
brings his band, The Powerhouse Revival, to The Filling Station on
Thursday, April 14, at 9:30 p.m. Cover is $5.
A
classically-trained violinist with a penchant for old-time fiddle,
Powerhouse Revival member Griff Bear's impossibly fleet fingered and
precision playing
never fails to elicit hoots and hollers from the
audience while he and Vance play fast and furious, spinning up the
energy of the crowd until someone shouts, "play some Hendrix!" And
Vance's slide guitar wails a Voodoo Chile to impress even the
staunchest Hendrix fan. When long-time rockabilly bassist, Allen Hunter
joins the mix, audience members are guaranteed a raucous whiskey-soaked
roadhouse blues good time.
Additionally,
Dylan and Griff have just released a new CD, "Live at Biddy McGraw's,"
which can be heard at Cactus Record's listening station throughout the
month of April. Cactus Records is located at 29 West Main in Bozeman.
